Nyimbo Zachimalawi, Mobile Version
Bio:
Salvation Army is a church just like any other Christian church that believes in Jesus Christ, so we also have choirs just that our own is called a songsters group or singing brigade. This is one of the most unique musical groups in the Salvation Army and across churches, as we present our music with voice and Timbrels (Timbourines).
We are called the Lilongwe Timbrel Brigade group, located in Area 25. Our women are highly trained, their talent fully crafted and ripe to bring a life changing experience to the world. We form part of the international body of women ministries. Our mission is to bring women into a knowledge of Christ, encourage their full potential in influencing families, friends and communities, and equip them for growth in personal understanding and skills apart from addressing issues which affects women and their families. We are challenging women to live a pure life.
We are so excited to bring a new taste of music in the country, music that speaks to the soul and restores women confidence to know that they too can, fight the same way a man can, as you may be aware, in the Salvation Army a woman can hold the pulpit, can hold position, just the same way a man can. A woman forms part of the body of Christ, our music is emphasizing the importance of a women to the ministry of preaching and winning souls for Christ, our music will speak to the destitute, those who are suffering family abuse, those struggling to meet todays’ needs and those in deep psychological battles, we would like to address it all though music. We would like women to see the happy side of life than worries and cries. It’s time for women to stand up and be counted. We are still being challenged by the high levels of poverty and suffering among women and children. And if we can make a difference through music, why not!
This is far from making profits, it’s more of preaching and reaching out to the souls. However, what if we get all the women along and support each other, Women constitute a high percent of the population, we have observed that, women to a higher extent do not support each other, we want women to feel confident to support each other so they rise in whatever they are doing. A man can be the head of the family, but what is the head without the neck? We complement each other.
Coming to the song: This is a victory song, a declaration song, song of redemption and a war against evil. We are fighting against evil and evil shall not prevail, we are bringing women together in the fight, whenever they are listening to the song, let every woman feel challenged to know that this is war against poverty, diseases, suffering and it can only be won if we are together. In verse 2 of the song, we realize that we cannot do without Christ who loved us and died on the cross for our sins. In verse 3 of the song we realize the strength of our enemy, but we plead not to give up by teaching and fighting on our knees and deeds. You just have to listen to it to understand it more.
Its hard to sell music in Malawi but we are hoping that with our music, people will come out to support us and the Salvation Army to reach out with our charity work. We would like to reach out to the underprivileged who include the elderly. This is one area we feel is so much neglected. We must find a way to reach out to agogo out. This song is coming at a very good time when the world is facing this challenge of corona virus. The reason we are releasing it now is to bring comfort to those who are worried, but at the same time raise money to support the needy families with basic necessities.
This single is coming out together with the video for families to enjoy. But other songs are still in the studio which we expect to have the full album by end of August. We are not in a rush, as Salvation Army believes in good music, so good music is what we will give you.
