Biography
Lomwe Prince, real name Leo Maloya is an authentic African artist, to those who follow Malawian music should know. He established his own genre which he called Dowahn jazz. As a young boy who elevated his singing skills at St Pius church choir he also loved listening to artist like Wambali Mkandawire, Oliva Mtukuzi, Paul Simon and Black Mambazo, who he prefer to call legends. Lomwe Prince was born on the 24th November 1992 in a family of six from the tribe of Lomwe from Chiladzulu. He is currently doing his diploma in accounting at Pact College in Blantyre. His is called Lomwe prince for his ethnic Lomwe music, He says he saw it wise to promote Malawian culture through music thatís why he came up with Dowahn jazz which means nyimbo zakwathu in vernacular. He has currently released his new songs entitled; Nasibeko, Mkazi wachilomwe, pamudzi apa and Style yachikondi just to mention a few in his album entitled Light at the end of the tunnel, which are enjoying Airplay, and his first video Nasibeko is now out which was directed by Ron Cz.
